He was an STA Fellow at the Communications Research Laboratory of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan from October 1994 until September 1996. During that time, he conducted joint research with Kohno Laboratory at Yokohama National University in Yokohama, Japan.
In October 1996, he became a Lecturer in the
Department of Computer Science & Engineering ,
Faculty of Engineering at
Shinshu University located in
Nagano Prefecture , Japan, where he is currently a Professor.
Since 2001, he has also been a part-time lecturer at the Nagano National College of Technology.
His current research topics include coding and modulation techniques, spread spectrum, sensor networks, and information systems.
Dr. Asano is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan (IEICE).
